The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Chief Aminul Islam is sounding very confident ahead of Asian Cricket Council's (ACC) meeting in Dhaka on July 24 to discuss the future of the Asia Cup 2025.
As of now, there are reports that the tournament is scheduled to be played in September 2025. However, there is still lack of clarity over India's participation in the tournament.
The Indian players are unwilling to participate in the event on the backdrop of the India-Pakistan political situation. The BCCI further requested the meeting to be moved out of Dhaka due to the prevalent political situation in the country.

As per reports in Cricbuzz, if no Indian representatives attended the meeting in Dhaka, they will be available online. Meanwhile, Aminul Islam said every country will participate in the event which is a big achievement for the board.
"The Asian Cricket Council is the mother body or governing body of cricket in Asia, and previously we have never hosted a major meeting of the Asian Cricket Council," Aminul told reporters on Monday.
"We will hold an official dinner on the 23rd and the ACC AGM in Dhaka on the 24th (July) in Dhaka where almost every country will participate. This is a big achievement for us, and till now everything is going according to plan (as far as hosting the ACC meeting concerned), and you will receive further updates in due course," he added.
Meanwhile, there were discussions on Shakib Al Hasan's future with Bangladesh cricket as well. The former Bangladesh skipper last featured in international cricket in the T20 World Cup 2024.
"Shakib is available as a cricketer. He hasn't retired from all the formats for Bangladesh as yet," "I will talk to him and we will make a decision after speaking with him. "I haven't been in contact with Shakib for quite some time. Not since taking on this responsibility (as BCB president)" said Aminul.
