Australian limited-overs captain Mitchell Marsh has re-signed with the Perth Scorchers for three more seasons in the Big Bash League (BBL), despite considerable interest from other teams in the tournament.
Interestingly, Marsh has played only one match for the Scorchers in the last three years, primarily due to international commitments and injuries during the competitions.

Mitchell Marsh expressed his happiness after re-signing with the Perth Scorchers, emphasizing his status as a one-club player despite the interest from larger teams.
He stated that the allure of being a "one-club player" made it an easy decision to remain with the Scorchers, despite receiving significant offers from rival clubs attempting to lure him away from his hometown team.
Perth Scorchers manager Kade Harvey stated that re-signing Mitchell Marsh was a top priority for the team.
"Mitch has been a significant part of our franchise since its foundation," he said. "Not only is he loyal and passionate about the Scorchers, but he is also the kind of player the rest of the team rallies around. He brings leadership, experience, and a diverse skill set on the field that will greatly benefit our side, along with a genuine hunger for success."

Before the embargo took effect at the end of the KFC BBL|14 regular season, Big Bash clubs were only allowed to re-sign up to ten men's players. The remainder of their lists entered a pool of 52 eligible free agents that rival clubs could sign during a ten-day trade period.
