Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has finally opened up about the message behind his viral appearance at the family court during his divorce hearing with Dhanashree Verma. As news of their separation made headlines earlier this year, Chahal was photographed wearing a black T-shirt with bold white lettering that read, "Be Your Own Sugar Daddy."
In a recent interaction, the leg-spinner clarified that he did not want to create any unnecessary drama during the proceedings but felt compelled to express himself. The shirt, as per Chahal, was not a stunt but a personal expression of how he was feeling at the time leading up to the final day in court.
Yuzvendra Chahal said he did not want to make a scene, but there were things that happened before the court date which made him wear that T-shirt.

Yuzvendra Chahal Explains Why He Wore 'Be Your Own Sugar Daddy' T-Shirt
Chahal gave details of why he wore the T-shirt during a recent chat. He said he had no plans of doing anything dramatic but something pushed him to act differently.
"Mereko nahi karna tha drama (I didn't want to do any drama). I just wanted to give one message and maine woh de diya (which I gave through the T-shirt),” Chahal said as quoted on the podcast with Raj Shamani.
He added that he was quiet at first but something happened from the other side that changed his mind.
"Kyunki saamne se kuch cheez hua tha, aur mera pehle mann nahi tha. Fir saamne se kuch hua toh fir maine kaaha ab sambhaal lo, ab mujhe nahi parwah kisi ki. Maine na kisi ko abuse kra, bus mujhe message dena tha (Something happened from the other side, and I didn't initially intend to respond. But then something happened, and I thought, 'Enough is enough, now I don't care about anyone.' I didn't abuse anyone; I just wanted to convey my message)," he revealed.
Chahal also admitted that the divorce settlement was a tough negotiation but he walked out content. He avoided details of the financial aspects and said:
"Maine ek achha deal sign kiya (I signed a good deal)."

Yuzvendra Chahal Slams Trolls Linking Him to RJ Mahvash
Chahal and Dhanashree got married in December 2020. Over the past year, rumours of a split started circulating before both parties confirmed the divorce earlier this year.
After his divorce, Chahal was seen spending time with a friend, Mahvash, which led to people on social media linking them together. The cricketer said this was the first time he was spotted publicly with someone, and people immediately jumped to conclusions.
"It happened for the first ki main kisi ke saath dikha and vahan se logon ne start kardia. We were trending. Ab rone toh nahi lagenge na, logon ko link up karna hai karo (It happened for the first time that I was seen with someone in public so people started speculating. We can’t start crying, if people link us up then so be it)."
He also shared how badly the online trolling affected Mahvash. She was called names like "homewrecker" and "house-breaker" by people who did not know the truth.
"Unhone bhi clear kia hai. It was very hard for her. Unko house-breaker, homewrecker bola gaya, bahut ganda ganda bola gaya, ab yeh Yuzi ke saath kyu aayi hai. I felt bad, ki jiss dost ne mujhe help kia to get out of this, aapne usi se link up kardia (She has also clarified. It was very hard for her. She was called house-breaker, homewrecker, all sorts of bad names, people asked why is she with Yuzi. I felt bad that the friend who helped me get out of this, I was linked up with her)," Chahal shared.
