The Indian cricketing fraternity has united in grief and outrage following the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which claimed the lives of at least 26 people and injured many on Tuesday, April 22.
The attack, carried out by members of The Resistance Front, an offshoot of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, targeted tourists at the scenic Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam. Described as one of the deadliest civilian attacks in India, it has sparked widespread condemnation from political leaders, international figures, and the sporting community.

Cricket legends and current stars, including Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Mohammad Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Hardik Pandya, took to social media to express their condolences, condemn the heinous act, and demand justice for the victims. Their heartfelt messages have resonated across the nation, reflecting a collective call to end terrorism.
Sachin Tendulkar expressed profound sorrow over the attack. In a post on X, he wrote,
"Shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic attacks on innocent people in Pahalgam. The affected families must be going through an unimaginable ordeal – India and the world stand united with them at this dark hour, as we mourn the loss of lives and pray for justice."
Indian ODI and Test captain Rohit also was at a loss for words and just posted a heartbroken emoji on his Instagram story.
Suryakumar Yadav also shared his anguish, joining his peers in condemning the attack. He tweeted:
“Devastated by the news of cowardly attack in Pahalgam. Let us stand united against terrorism and pray for strength and justice for families of victims.”
Mohammed Shami voiced his condemnation with a powerful message urging national unity against terrorism.
“I am deeply saddened to address the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam. This heinous act has resulted in significant loss of innocent lives and has left families shattered. Such violence not only targets individuals but also undermines the fabric of our society. “Just read about the horrific and shocking terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
To target and kill innocent civilians in the name of religion is pure evil...
No cause, no belief, no ideology can ever justify such a monstrous act.Yeh kaisi ladai hai…”
Pandya took to his Instagram account to offer his condolences to the victims.
