The three-match T20I series will be played in the US, while the ODI series is scheduled to be played in the Caribbean between August 1 to 12.

Disagreement between PCB and CWI over white-ball series

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Cricket West Indies (CWI) seem to be in disagreement with how the schedule for their white-ball series in August has been played.

Pakistan will travel to the USA and the Caribbean to play three T20Is and three ODIs as per the original schedule. However, the two boards now are in complete disagreement over the original and proposed schedule.

The three-match T20I series will be played in the US, while the ODI series is scheduled to be played in the Caribbean between August 1 to 12. Meanwhile, PCB is hell bent on converting the ODI series in the Caribbean into T20Is series, while the West Indies Cricket Board is keen to play ODIs.

Drama Between PCB and CWI Over White-Ball Series

The reason is pretty understandable. After missing out on direct qualification in the last ODI World Cup, the Windies are looking to get more match practice in the format. On the other hand, PCB is looking to set their combinations ahead of the T20 World Cup next year.

Sources close to both the boards have confirmed that heated discussions are on between PCB and CWI as they are looking to resolve the matter. CWI has further confirmed Cricbuzz that discussions with PCB are going on regarding the matter.

“The schedule remains as it is, and we continue to engage with the PCB on the matter,” CEO Chris Dehring confirmed that discussions are ongoing between the two boards. He also confirmed that the two boards will hold further consultations on the sidelines of the conclave in Singapore.
