Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final match of the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) on Tuesday, June 03. RCB was the first team to reach the finale of the T20 league by beating PBKS in the Qualifier one in Mullanpur. The Shreyas Iyer-led side took the tougher route and made it to just their second final in IPL's history. In fact, the PBKS have made it to the playoffs after 11 long years.
Meanwhile, RCB last played the final in 2016 against David Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Bengaluru. That time, they botched up a relatively easy run chase and missed a golden chance to be a hero in front of home crowds. This time, they are favorites to win that elusive maiden IPL trophy, which has longed for them for 17 years. RCB has been exceptional away from home, winning all seven games. Their success this season has been built on playing well collectively rather than individual brilliance.

On the other hand, PBKS's success has been built more on individual brilliance this IPL season. In all their victories so far, individual players have stood up such as Shreyas Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal, Priyansh Arya, and Prabhsimran Singh. But in the finals, they need all their players to step up if they have to etch their name in history books.

The pitch in Ahmedabad is extremely batting-friendly, as the batters will get value for their shots. It has traditionally been a high-scoring venue, with scores in excess of 200 also being chased easily. PBKS chased 201 with six wickets in hand with one over to spare.
